Big and tall clothing occasionally look the same on that type of person who wear them and they are around because , well , they are a necessity .

As I am, a big and tall person, what size do you need to be before those regular size clothing styles don’t work for you? Well a question like this needs to be answered in the right manner.

If you genuinely require big and tall sizes, it so happens that you have discovered that ready to wear pants and shirts don’t always fit as you would like them to; whilst the shirt body is nice an snug the sleeve tends to be to long; if the collar is tight, the shirt body is right; if your jeans waist is right , then the jeans leg is to short.

Experience has taught me a valuable lesson in finding the problems.

The solution, Big and Tall size clothing.

As I have found out, there are a few rules of thumb we are able to follow, while looking around to buy clothes. Basically: If you are taller than 6’2″ or taller and you have a chest size bigger than that of your waist then order “tall” sizes. Again if you under 6’2″ and your waist is larger than your chest size then order “big” sizes. I know my height and I would assume that you would know your height as well but if you, like me, are a bit misguided in finding out our chest and waist size , because we go by our last pair of old pants and/or shirt sizing , then think again because you will need to measure yourself properly to obtain the correct sizing.

How do we do that ?. Well, find yourself a flexible tape measure, wrap it around your chest just under the armpits, run one end of the tape along where the number’s are shown, pull it comfortably tight until it stops, note the number, and that’s the size of your chest repeat the same with your waist and you have your pants size.

After you measured yourself look for the correct sizing on the sizing charts, as it is important to note that a lot of clothing brands have different sizes for there products. Go to the section you are looking for as displayed on the link bar and there you should have a variety of what you are looking for .

It used to be that men’s big and tall clothes were relegated to smaller specialty clothing stores with higher prices. That’s no longer the case.
